弦纹筒炉的造型由来已久，最早可追溯至汉代铜樽，陶瓷质者最早可见唐代三彩器，之后的两宋也颇为流行，汝、定、官窑皆有生产，且为今日的稀世珍宝。本品体量小巧，是龙泉器中难得的讨喜小品。直口开阔，口沿宽平内折，筒腹，凸弦纹装饰，外壁由上至下稍敛收，胫部出三足，纤巧可爱。外壁满施青釉，内壁施半截釉，内外底涩胎。
