此碗成型规矩，深腹阔底，斜弧壁。底承极浅的假圈足，修足规整，足心细微打洼。除底足外，里外满施黑釉，釉面光润，色泽乌黑，现半木光。吉州窑黑釉瓷的色泽不似建窑和北方诸窑，釉面无浮光，自然古朴，以其点茶，别有一番意趣。胎质较细，颗粒小而均匀，入手颇沉。整器形正釉佳，气韵沉稳雅致。碗口后镶铜扣，古铜色与黑色相得益彰。品相完整。吉州窑装饰手法丰富独特，素以各式窑变斑纹、木叶纹、剪纸贴花等称道，如本品这般素黑乌亮者殊不多见，乃古今饮茶逸品佳器。
