绿松是我国著名的四大名石之一，其中以湖北郧县、郧西、竹山一带的优质绿松石最为著名，产出最优质的瓷松和铁线松。其工艺要求，主要以颜色、质地、杂质及块度大小为标准，如绿松以及网纹美观的铁线松者，大块为一级料。明代为我国历史上第二次收藏复古高峰，大量商周古物成为社会名流竞相追逐的对象。该绿松簋，造型古朴，取料大气，色正质密，通体饰以兽面纹，双兽为耳，极具匠心。
