Ryukyu Islands, 18th-19th centuryThe tray with a central yin yang symbol encircled by the Eight Trigrams, the sides of the stand with archaic vessels, a scholar and attendant, luduan and a poetic inscription, the tray base and stand interior marked with the character yi 益.Tray width 14cm (5 1/2in) (2).
