Georges Rouault Lithograph Parade France 1934: Lithograph by George Rouault (French, 1871-1958) of the frontispiece from Cirque de l'Etoile filante, 1934. This lithograph was exhibited, framed, and sold by the Whyte Gallery in Washington DC in the late 30s or early 40's. Lithograph has been cut down to be framed. Dimensions are: image - 15" wide x 23 3/4" high, overall - 20 3/8" wide x 28 3/4" high. All measurements are approximate. Artist Biography: George Rouault (French, 1871-1958) was a painter and printer active in the Expressionist movement in France. He was known for his stylized depictions of clowns and prostitutes as moral commentaries. Condition: Lithograph has scattered bumps and scratches, with a tear to one corner.
