Meyer Spartan Officer’s Dress Sword: Made by N.S. Meyer. The blade etched with the image of floral military trophies, scrolling foliage, and an eagle clutching a ribbon reading, “E PLURIBUS UNUM†below a rosette with stars. The other side of the blade replacing the eagle with conjoined US but otherwise the same. The spine etched with scroll work. The bakelite grip supported by a nickel-plated hilt. The blade also with the etched maker’s mark, “SPARTAN TRADEMARK N.S. MEYER WEST GERMANY†and with a brass inlaid “PROVED†medallion. This piece includes the original nickel-plated scabbard. Dimensions are: Blade length 30 7/8 inches long; Sword length 36 3/8 inches long; Sheath and sword 37 1/2 inches long. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Free of chips, cracks, and restoration.
