Vicente Escudero (Spanish, 1892 - 1980), oil on Masonite depicting an abstract form, signed on the face by the artist and on verso described as, "Escuadero was the famous Spanish Flamenco Dancer. He painted this and gave it to my mother (Betty Borden Pirie Hines). Joan Pirie LeClerc 2005." Dimensions are: board size - 13 1/8â tall X 4â wide, while the unframed backing board measures 16 1/2â tall X 7 1/2â wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Backing board with staining. Provenance: Formerly of the collection of Mary Elizabeth âBettyâ (Borden) Pirie (1909â1961) Is mentioned in the book edited by Emily Braun and Rebecca Rainbow, published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Cubism: The Leonard A.
