Group of (6) stone carvings from Indian temples, 15th century and later, all but one carved from sandstone. The carvings are fragments of larger statues, with primarily the head and the bust preserved. The carvings have been mounted to square wooden bases. Dimensions are: largest - 9 inches high X 5 1/2 inches wide, without base. All measurements are approximate. Condition: All pieces are fragments of larger carvings, with broken edges and surface wear; all but one retain fairly well-defined features. Provenance: Collected by Hollywood & Broadway set designer Robert Gundlach in the 1950's
