(2) Korean lacquer mother of pearl inlay presentation & smoking boxes: a) presentation box with lacquer and mother of pearl inlay in shape of a wildcat with plaque on inside of lid "Mr. Robert Brewster December 25, 1968 Kim Hyung Wook." b) lacquer smoking box, mother of pearl inlay on lid with motif of birds and blossoms, inside contains lidded compartment, small hollow, and brass ashtray for smoking implements. Dimensions are: larger box - 13 inches long X 9 1/2 inches wide X 3 inches high. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor repair to larger box, light surface abrasions. Provenance: From the estate of Robert and Virginia Brewster. Mr. Brewster was with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and he and his family resided in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia. and Korea. Acquisitions were made from 1957 to 1980 throughout Asia.
