Set of 3 figures: a) African Pende Munganji figure with spear, from Congo region. Wood and woven grass doll with pointed head, large eyes painted white and long, wooden spear; b) Carved ancestor figure from Sepik River area, Papua New Guinea, wood carving with orange and white stripes over dark staining; hooked nose and full beard/moustaches, prominent genitalia. Eyes made of conch shells, stained dark; c) Asante maternity figure, likely from or in style of Ghana, Africa, carved wooden figure stained dark depicting seated woman holding suckling baby; domed hairstyle, trio of neckrings; spine and lighter-stained seat of figure are etched with geometric patterns. Dimensions are: a) 9 inches tall X 3 inches wide at base; spear - 12 inches long; b) 20 inches tall X 4 inches wide at base; c) 15 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide at base. All measurements are approximate. Condition: a) Wear to paint on head and around eyes, grass fringe of right ankle (on doll) missing; spear shows fleck of white paint near base; b) split in wood on reverse from crown of head throughout torso.
