(2) Kunisada II Japanese Woodblock Prints Geisha: a) Kunisada II, (Kunimasa III, Toyokuni IV), (Japanese 1823 - 1880), Japan, woodblock print with embossing on paper from "The Tale of the Genji", Chapter 8; Hana no En (The Festival of the Cherry Blossoms). b) Utagawa Kunisada II (Kunimasa III, Toyokuni IV) (Japanese, 1823â1880), Publisher Tsutaya Kichio (Koeido) (Japanese), Japan, 1857, woodblock print on paper titled, No. 6, Suetsumuhana, from the series Lady Murasaki's Genji Cards (Murasaki Shikibu Genji karuta), depicting Geisha in the snow. Dimensions are: a) paper size - 13 inches high X 9 1/4 inches wide, framed - 19 3/4 inches high X 16 1/8 inches wide; b) sight size - 9 3/4 inches high X 7 inches wide, framed - 14inches high X 11 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One example has been examined outside of the frame and is shown to be mounted to acid free backing board. The other, having been framed by the same shop, is assumed to be mounted in the same manner; b) Examined out of frame and fully mounted to mat board.
