Korean Landscape Painting on Cotton: Painting circa 19th century, jacquard silk surround and frame, circa 1960s. The painting depicting mountains and homes in the distance with a lake and two boats in the middle ground and two trees in the foreground with characters in the upper left sky. Dimensions are: image - 43 1/8 inches tall X 9 1/4 inches wide, framed - 53 inches tall X 15 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Not examined out of the frame but the following is present: 3 inch tear in upper left quadrant, 1inch tear center left, repaired hole left center, repaired hole lower left quadrant, 3/4 inch X 3/4 inch. Provenance: From the estate of Robert and Virginia Brewster. Mr. Brewster was with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and he and his family resided in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia. and Korea. Acquisitions were made from 1957 to 1980 throughout Asia.
