Antique illuminated manuscript page, gouache on parchment, likely showing a scene from the Shah-namah, or Epic of Kings. In which, the Persian prince Asfandiar pulls his rival Gursgar from his horse with a lasso and captures him. Dimensions are: 15 inches long X 10 7/8 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Not examined out of frame; light foxing and a few wormholes; paper buckling. Provenance: Collected by Hollywood & Broadway set designer Robert Gundlach in the 1950's
