African painted and incised granary door and lock, possibly from Mali. Three planks of wood with three crossbars and a sizeable wooden locking mechanism with iron chain, painted all over with geometric figures in red and black with incisions to emphasize outlines of shapes. Dimensions are: 28 1/4 inches long X 15 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Wear commensurate with age.
