Both the double guard and scale caps feature deep molding and engraving, along with slim brass liners which are checkered. Blade features a long, false edge beginning�at the ricasso, with an acute distal taper. Steel or iron mid lock tab and frame spacer. nickel silver pins, and an unused monogram plate. 6" blade marked SHEFFIELD and W. BU, a work by prominent folding knife maker W. Butcher. Wear and use markings on liner, guards, lockup also worn. A W. Rex piece, dated to the early 19th c.
