Decorative, antique German balisong�butterfly knife with scroll engraved handles.
The blade, measuring 2.25"L, is marked BONTGEN AND SABIN PATENT, and MADE IN GERMANY. Bontgen and Sabin was a respected German cutler founded in 1867 in the Solingen region, famed for their excellent steel and knife making heritage. This turn of the century folder with a distal and a profile taper and classic trailing point shape, folds neatly into the nickel-silver scaled scrolled handles- the lockup latch closes firmly and securely, whether the knife is open or closed.
