Solche Masken wurden von den acht trunkenen Begleitern des Königs Suiko getragen, bei einem lustigen Tanz am Ende des komischen Stückes über diesen König und dessen Abenteuer. This mask type relates to the comic story of king Suiko and his travails and depicts one of the drunken attendants of the king. They would appear at the end of the play, engaging in a humourous dance.
