款识：大明宣德年制 来源：William Henry Wilkinson爵士（1858-1930年），1900至1917年期间任驻华领事，并由后人保存迄今。此香炉形制特别，腹部为六棱瓜式，形制饱满巧致，工艺细致。盘口，短束颈，六棱瓜式腹部，下承三足，冲天耳做辫绳纹，腹部外壁高浮雕梵文，就造型而言十分少见。黄铜铸造而成，皮壳呈现出明显的明代黑褐之色。底部方框刻「大明宣德年制」三行六字楷书款，字形饱满浑厚，其中「德」字少中间一横，具有明代中期特点。梵文是古印度的一种文字，又称「悉昙」字。随着藏传佛教的传入，明朝开始大量出现书写梵文的器物，尤以成化最盛，为礼佛祈福之需。
