释文：（《呼嵩阁雨望》、《江夜》，文略）近作写呈不党先生吟教，溥儒。
钤印：溥儒、心畬书画 上款“不党”即严群（1907-1985），字孟群，后字不党，福建福州人，严复侄孙，古希腊哲学史专家、翻译家。早年留美，就读于哥伦比亚大学、耶鲁大学，回国后执教于燕京大学等校，1947年任教浙江大学。
呼嵩阁位于杭州西湖烟霞岭，《江夜》收入溥心畬《南游集·卷一》，对照严群南下任教的时间，是作当书于1948、1949年溥氏南游杭州期间。
