盘内外均施珊瑚红彩为地，盘心以金彩绘八宝团寿纹，纹饰布局工整，金彩灿烂，色彩鲜艳喜庆，成对保存良好，较为难得。吴锡麒（1746～1818），清代文学家。钱塘（今浙江杭州）人。乾隆四十年（1775）进士。曾为翰林院庶吉士，授编修。后两度充会试同考官，擢右赞善，入直上书房，转侍讲侍读，升国子监祭酒。著有《有正味斋集》73卷。此盤就为当时吴氏定烧，在明清瓷器堂名款收藏中是件不可多得的藏品。
