此镇器型精致小巧，大象匍匐于地，雕工精湛，耳朵贴服身上，俏皮可爱。皮色浓厚润泽，应为文人案头经年盘玩所致，极为难得。象性情温顺，惹人喜爱，寓意太平，亦俗称“太平喜象”。另外，由于晚明以来佛教流行，禅宗主张破除一切名“相”的执着，简称“扫相”，于是借用“象”与“相”的谐音，洗象图明确地表达了作器者“破除我执”、心向佛法的平和心境。训象能为鋬篥声，城河洗髓一身轻。太平有象思全盛，列队趋朝解送迎。
