款识：眼看春雨春风霁，写赠湘江玉一枝。倪云林句，狮城书艺雅集写此，为赏音发咲。启功。||钤印：启功之印、元白 |以朱砂画竹为苏东坡首创。据说，一次东坡偶然兴起，以朱砂画竹，时人有不以为然者，谓“竹非朱色”，东坡曰“竹亦非墨”。于是以朱砂写竹，成为文人雅兴一典，后来写之者不绝。启功喜绘朱竹。此画中的朱砂竹，挺拔清秀，用笔道劲圆润、疏爽飞动，虚实想照，妙趣横生。
