清乾隆 白玉“一葦渡江”刻詩文插屏 The rectangular jade carved on one side to depict the Buddhist monk Bodhidharma crossing the turbulent Yangtze river on a reed. He is shown wearing a long hooded robe, the face framed by the tight curls of the hair and beard, all below a square inscriptions within an inscribed circle. The reverse inscribed in regular script with poem praising Bodhidhaṛma and dated to the Reign of Qianlong period. Hardwood frame. Qing Dynasty Qianlong period. 据传菩提达摩在南朝刘宋年间，乘商船到达广州。及后达摩闻说梁武帝信奉佛法，于是至金陵与其谈法。双方终因会晤不契，不欢而散，達摩悄然北上。途經北江，沒有渡江的工具，遂將一束葦草置於江面，踏躡而渡，後至北魏，所到之處，以禪法教人，成为禅宗始祖。此插屏以白玉製作而成，玉質優良，潔白瑩潤，正面浮雕達摩一葦渡江圖，反面以楷书刻宋代劉克莊《達摩渡蘆圖》七言律詩。此器玉質瑩潤細潔，刀法細勁遒婉，人物刻畫生動，當為清代宮廷玉器之精品。 來源: 德州達拉斯私人藏家提供
