This letter is particularly noteworthy given the age of its subjects: at age 32 in 1957, Church became the youngest member of the Senate (a title he held until June 1961); at age 43 in 1960, Kennedy became the youngest person ever elected to the presidency; and at age 31 in 1960, Harding became the youngest member of Congress.
