Description

William Shakspere (sic) : Romeo and Juliet, Nd. C.1898. Qto. Brown cloth binding, gilt titling, illustration on spine & upper board. Decorated foliate eps. Nine illustrations in photogravure plates with tissue guards from Designs by Frank Bindley. Published by Marcus Ward. Very scarce.

CONDITION REPORT:
Binding with some wear and slight fading. Text pages with slight marginal browning but otherwise very clean as also the plates. The text block is a little loose with some signatures detached from the original adhesive backing to the spine but still held firmly on the cords. The book comes with an embroidered cloth cover which has served to protect the binding. Prize label on front fep dated 1898.
