A George III silver gilt lamp cigar lighter by Digby Scott and Benjamin Smith II, London 1808, in the shape of an Antique lamp, with a cone finial to the acanthus mounted circular pull-off cover secured by a chain, a rope, fruiting vine, beaded and reeded top bands, the serpent high handle reeded and girdled, the lower body with two reeded bands, on a low circular foot, 15cm (6in) long, 282g (9.05 oz) See Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge, accession no. M. 4-1989 for a comparable example by Scott & Smith of 1803.
