扁形壶体，直口，椭圈足。瓷胎，胎质细密，釉色光洁。双面绘立姿钟馗，头顶天脚立地。乱发蓬髯，双眉倒竖，目光炯炯，面目威严可怖。钟馗为民间传说中趋凶避鬼的真神，原为唐朝人，因长相狰狞遭小人谗言武举未中，触阶而亡。后托梦唐明皇，誓除天下恶鬼。由此钟馗的形象便在民间广为流传，是中国百姓喜闻乐见的吉祥图案。
