Baker, 4th edition, published by J. B. Lippincott and Co, Philadelphia, 1868, 413 pages; b) The Albert N'yanza Great Basin of the Nile and Explorations of the Nile Sources, published by J.B. Lippincott & Co., Philadelphia 1869, 499 pages. Both books with leather spine and fore edges and marbled boards. Maps intact in both. Dimensions are: 7 3/8 inches X 4 3/4 inches. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Both books are edge worn and show some surface wear. a) Foxing, water damage in upper corner with semi-circular stain, and scorching on pages opposite engravings; b) Inside map and cover pages are loose. Provenance: From the family collection of William J. Latta, noted collector of Napoleon memorabilia and/or his son-in-law Harry Franck, a well known travel writer, by descent.
