Chinese Qing Dynasty Gilt bronze and stones inlaid ruyi. The Chinese gilt bronze wishes-granting wand open-work carved unto a organic shape of a branch of Lingzhi scrolling heads and reticulated stems throughout, with numerous foliate emerged from the branching stem. The top of the wand resembled two Lingzhi abundant, inlaid with agate and white jade. The ruyi head and stems with white and green jade inlaid. Lingzhi is known as the fungus of immortality and is considered by Daoist mystics to be nourishment for immortals (Xian). Lingzhi is also a symbol of longevity. It's believed that Lingzhi grows in the dwelling of the Immortals and that whoever consumed the hallowed fungus achieved divinity. The leaves adorned with many attractive colorful semi precious stones inlaid. The Jade have clean tones, moist and milky appearance. Four gilt character carved on jade pomegranate, Qianlong precious item. The gilt bronze is bright and lustrous as the light is easily reflected from the well-polished surfaces. The plaques split in the middle section, and fitted perfectly upon each other. There is a light grey patina noted in several creases. Measurements: Length: 11 5/8" Width: 3 3/4"
