A 19th Century, U-shaped, high-relief/ openwork, carving from a single piece of wood, with a seated musician playing a flute for a reclining scholar, both surrounded by swirling tendrils of smoke issuing from a censer of incense, painted with red, green, blue, and natural wood tones. W: 20 9/16" (52.3cm) Condition: A repaired split through the center of the piece, with minor wearing of the paint around the edges.
