款识：台湾当闽之一屿，环以大海，东南夷之所居。明季之乱，闽南之民移焉。凡构屋之梁栋，尚桧而贱杉，屋在野而贱者杉也，近市而贵者，桧也。其价五倍于野之屋。甲午秋，台人传言有寇，于是居民之富者，售其市屋而趋野，趋之者众，野成市焉，于是野屋贵而市屋贱矣。黠者又买屋于市者，将贱入而贵出之。夫世贵桧而贱杉久矣，及甚乱也，易市野之宜而杉贵于桧，非杉实贵，以其在野之贵，而岂桧果贱而杉果贵也哉。甲午秋九月，心畬画记。|钤印：旧王孙（朱）、溥儒（白）、天籁（朱）
