12th-14th century AD. A silver pendant with cross formed as a disc and three radiating arms with knop finials, hub with pelletted cross to one face and 'AGLA' apotropaic inscription; being an abbreviation for a charm against fever during the Middle Ages, from the Hebrew 'Ata gibor le'olam Adonai' ('You are mighty forever, O Lord'"). 5.39 grams, 29mm (1"). From a private UK collector; previously the property of an East Anglian collector; acquired in Europe in the late 1940s.
