本品造型修长挺拔，通体施白釉，釉色白中透黄。肩部贴塑双铺首耳。装饰简素，不乏威凛之气。明初，除景德镇御窑厂外，龙泉窑、磁州窑等均为宫廷烧造瓷器。原清宫旧藏，《内府御用器画样》之十一卷《弘历行乐图》亦见有此仿定白釉铺首尊的画样（图1）。故宫旧藏—例明代仿定白釉铺首尊，造型及釉色与本品相若，尺径更为高大，器身墨书“云麓”二字，应为明长沙王所建的道宫——“云麓宫”内的陈设用具，详见《定瓷雅集——故宫博物院珍藏出土定窑瓷器荟萃》，故宫出版社，页133（图2）。
