LITERATURE: On the backing paper affixed to the reverse of the frame, the artist notes: Recently a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff was shot and killed by two hitchhikers who made their getaway on foot. The rugged country of the Sacramento Mountains hid them for 6 days. They were hunted on foot, horseback, vehicle, and helicopter. Over 100 law officers and other parties were involved in the search.
