Jacques Vesery (USA) lidded hollow form carved and coloured 17x13cm. SignedThis tribute collaboration is based on my fondest memories of Ray’s pieces, lidded boxes with a flared top. Thoughts of seeing our good friends again in another time and place also came to mind during the making of this piece as I am reminded that most of my closest friends are makers, yet we see those friends sobriefly, now and then in the makers world.Iintentionally left Ray's tool marks on theinterior of the top section so both are hands are still present. I am honoured to have the opportunity to be part of this exhibit and project.I had the pleasure of meeting, working, playing and living with Ray several times over the years, in many different countries. My fondest interaction was when he and I were asked to conduct the critique in the Instant Gallery at the AAWSymposium 2001, the same year Ray was honoured by AAW with the lifetimeachievement award.
