A RARE PARCEL GILT LUOHAN BRONZE, QING
China, 18th- earlier 19th century. The bronze heavily cast and fire-gilt, neatly incised and partially covered with fine, polychrome enamels to highlight details of the depiction such as the eyes or the rock on which the Luohan is seated.
Provenance: The Greenwald Collection, Nr. 91. Christies New York, April 5th, 2011, Fine Chinese Ceramics from the Greenwald Collection, lot 372. A private collection, Germany, acquired from the above. Two old labels to base.
Condition: Good condition with some losses to enamels, wear and traces of use.
