An early Victorian birch and upholstered armchair, circa 1840, in the manner of Miles & Edwards, the padded and button upholstered 'spoon back' above the padded arms and seat, on turned tapering legs at the front, terminating in Cope's patent brass caps and castors, one rear leg stamped '40502', 88cm high, 72cm wide, 80cm deep.
