周中耀（1946-），湖南长沙人，号素心斋主。现为中国美协会员，中国画家协会副主席，长沙理工大学客座教授。数十年来，周氏致力施工笔花鸟画的研究与创作。周氏作品追求天趣自然、充满生气，线条精微、律如乐韵，画面明快亮丽、光影交融，空间深遂、层次重重，富神秘感、耐人寻味，既保留了传统工笔花鸟画恬静、典雅的特点，亦结合了现实生活的体验及时代的审美意识。现被誉为当代最具实力的中国工笔花鸟画家之一。
