A late 19th century carved giltwood and canework jardiniere: in the French taste of rectangular form with rounded ends, having a metal liner with twin carrying handles and moulded and spiral ribbon surround, the cane panel and beadwork sides within shaped moulded uprights headed with paterae on turned and fluted tapered legs united by a plain stretcher with curved ends terminating in foliate sabots, 84cm (2ft 9in)long 80cm (2ft 71/2in) high 32.5cm (1ft 03/4in) deep.
