Description
Translation provided by Youdao
Very fine example of a Han (1st-3rd century CE) bronze of this form with an intact lid. The body is smooth with no visible decorative elements except for taotie loose ring handles on the narrow sides of the shoulders. Then underside of the foot has a cast loop for drainage and a raised "?" inscription character on the inner foot wall. The patina exhibits subtle cuprite and malachite overall with some areas of appropriate heavier oxidation. Very likely of the period.
