字书五，号珠泉，一号竹泉，蒙古正黄旗，姓萨哈喇氏，赐汉姓许。居襄平（今辽阳）城南喇嘛园村。光绪丙子科举人，大挑七品京官山东補用知县，充癸巳山东乡试同考官，选取许多士子。历任东平，新泰，寿张各州县。经他治理的地方，都能“政平讼理，时有奎青天之誉”。又能兴修水利，防泛河患，使沿河居民受益不鲜，久称不衰。后来调任新泰县时，东平搢绅，曾不远数百里来为之祝寿。可见他的德泽感人之深了。著有《竹泉诗草》、《新泰杂咏》若干首。
