A Chinese 19th Century green hardstone Chilong snuff bottle, of flattened ovoid form, the speckled emerald green and black body carved in low relief with wrythen chilong, surmounted by a carnelian stopper and wooden scoop, Erik Hancock collection paper label, height 6.5cm. NB: Erik Hancock was a well-known and prolific collector of Chinese works of art during the 1960s and 1970s. Mostly known for his collection of snuff bottles and jade carvings, many of the artifacts that were once part of his collection are now listed in publications or housed in major collections around the world.
