Roman Period, 30 BC-323 AD. A gold finger ring formed as a snake with curled tail and lobed head, punched ring detailing to the body, central cell with filigree collar and inset garnet cabochon. Cf. The Alice and Louis Koch Collection, volume I, Leeds, 1994, item 120 for type. 8.24 grams, 20.65mm overall, 17.76mm internal diameter (approximate size British O, USA 7, Europe 14.98, Japan 14) (3/4").
