A silver finger ring comprising a narrow D-section hoop, broad keeled shoulders with incised hatching, plaque with inset carnelian cloison, intaglio pair of clasped hands (mane in fede) motif. Cf. Ruseva-Slokoska, L. Roman Jewellery, Sofia, 1991, item 183 for type. 8.6 grams, 29mm overall, 18.90x16.09mm internal diameter (approximate size British L 1/2, USA 6, Europe 11.87, Japan 11) (1 1/4"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
