Lambert, Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Ornamental Plaque of Silver, 47 x 60 x 14mm. This is formed of sheet silver, with an angular loop on the back. It has the shape of a small quadruped with big ears, standing with head turned backwards. The body is covered with shapes created by depressions in the surface of the object. This comes from central Asia and is steppe art, c. 500 B.C. it would have been attached to clothing or horse harness by a strap passing through the loop. There is slight damage -- a small hole -- but generally it is in very good condition.' 27 grams, 61mm (2 1/2").
