Partially printed DS, 4pp, 8.25 x 13.25 in., New Orleans, LA. May 27, 1856. Document records the sale of "a certain negress slave, named Marie-Therize, aged about 38 years" for the sum of $450. Transacted between John Foretich and Hélène Ward Ochiglevich. Marie-Therize is described as "fully guaranteed against the vices of diseases prescribed by law, with the exception of the vice of drunkenness, to which the said slave is declared to be somewhat addicted."
