Ogden, Josh E. Show manager of the Buffalo Bill Combination, active 1874-1885. ALS, 2pp, 8.125 x 10.75 in., Chicago, IL. January 8, 1885. Addressed to "My Dear Hoen." Ogden writes to August Hoen, proprietor of the A. Hoen & Co., a lithographic firm based in Baltimore, MD concerning an order of promotional lithographs and portraits of Buffalo Bill for the upcoming season. The Combination show was shuttered that year in favor of Buffalo Bill's Wild West ("Mr. Cody takes the Company as his own and under his management Jany. 18, opening here on that date"), and a revised order of printed materials is submitted, including, "330 Portraits. - 330 Medles [sic]. - 400 Prairie Waif." Ogden supplies appropriate shipping and billing instructions, noting that "the Buffalo Bill's Dutchman party will square up the little account with you."
