Prestigeträchtiges Souvenir für Angehörige reicher Bürger- und Adelsfamilien aus der Zeit des Niedergangs der Grand Tour.Auf einer Grundplatte aus poliertem, schwarzem Stein, Sockel und Säulenschaft aus massivem, rotem Marmor ("rosso antico"). Die Inschrift des Sockels in Nachahmung vergoldeter Bronzelettern mit gelber Farbe ausgefüllt. Die spiralartig nach oben gewundenen Bildfelder des dorischen Säulenschafts sind der Einfachheit halber nicht wie beim Original als Relief, sondern als Gravuren gearbeitet. Auf dem Kapitell ein zylindrischer Sockel, der mit einer bronzenen Kaiserstatue bekrönt ist, die jedoch vom Typ her einem zeitgleichen Modell der Trajanssäule zuzuordnen ist (bartlos, in der Rechten Weltkugel, die Linke erhoben; andere Exemplare der Mark-Aurel-Säule zeigen den bärtigen Kaiser mit Schild und Lanze). Hand und linker Unterarm der Kaiserstatue abgebrochen, sonst tadelloser Zustand. Höhe 62,3 cm. Eindrucksvolles Objekt der Inszenierung klassischer Bildung durch bürgerliche und adlige Kreise des 19.
