After/Follower/Circle of Sir Anthony Van Dyck (1599-1641) Christ on the cross with St. Catherine of Siena and St. Dominic with a putto. Original painted by Dyck after responding to the request made by his dying father in 1622, Anthony van Dyck completed this work for the Dominicans, who nursed the old man and had proven to him "seeker prints and loyalty". The altarpiece was completed before 1629 and from then on adorned the church of the monastery until it was dissolved in 1783. Original now housed in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium.
