因器形极似莲子而得名。盖罐直口、溜肩、圆弧腹、圈足，罐口绘折枝花纹，溜肩处以竹篦暗刻勾连云纹，圆弧腹上以山不为界。云气为栏，绘以人物故事片段，一人回首对话，一人拱手相对。画片极富动态，晚明制器，胎釉成熟，绘工多以世俗体裁入画，并旁及老莲笔意，画意自然纯熟，毫不拘限于程序，为后世开创了生动传神，活泼飘逸之先河。
